Ozigbo Is Corrupt, Unfit To Be Governor- Says Group
A sociopolitical organization, under the aegis of Citizens Coalition for Good Governance (CCGG), has described Mr. Valentine Ozigbo as one Governorship aspirant, who lacks the wherewithal, integrity and character to manage the affairs of Anambra State.
The group noted the heavy allegations levelled on Mr. Ozigbo by Directors of Transcorp Hilton Hotel, where he worked before he was sacked unceremoniously.
The allegation, which was published on Sun Newspapers of Tuesday, 22nd June, 2021, showed that Ozigbo may be facing a jail term if he fails to account for some missing funds during the time he headed the organization.
The case is due to come up in court on 28th June, 2021.
Aside the array of arranged and jaundiced opinion polls sponsored by Mr. Ozigbo to erroneously be considered a top contender in the race for the Anambra Governorship election, sources have revealed that Mr. Ozigbo is not among the top three of contenders for the Governorship ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The group, after rising from their meeting at the Emmaus House Awka on Thursday, described Mr. Ozigbo as a man of complex character, who presents a fake personality and has established a false impression of himself.
The Convener of the group, Mr. Chiedozie Ubaka, stated that the group, which investigated the lifestyle, career history and testimonies about each of the Governorship aspirant, scored Valentine Ozigbo low based on his inability to answer to the corruption allegation against him at Transcorp.
Mr. Ubaka equally noted concerns that Mr. Ozigbo is not an indigene of Anambra State as rumours of his roots in Arondizogu had been lingering in his adopted community, Amesi, even before he declared to contest for Governorship.
Ubaka said that the hallmark of every astute politician is to build a solid and fervent support base, which according to him, Ozigbo has failed to achieve in spite of the hype he has created around himself.
Speaking further, Ubaka said that Mr. Ozigbo, who has established himself as a fraudulent personality, was widely reported to have hijacked the Aguata and Orumba North LGA ad-hoc delegates election when his loyalists failed to emerge in the election.
He advised delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to look beyond Ozigbo while making the choice of who becomes their candidate in the next election.
“The likes of Uche Ekwunife, Godwin Maduka and Chris Azubogu should be considered if PDP wants to stand a chance in the November 6 election”, Ubaka concluded.
